System disarms itself spontaneously
Has anyone that has also had this occurrence received an answer from Simply Safe as to why this would happen?

@amandaparson27 The link below describes the exact opposite process, where the system(s) in question were arming by themselves. Issue was an update that was "stuck". I would first try a "hard" reboot of your base. Unplug the base, unscrew the bottom, twist and take out a battery for about two minutes. Reverse the process and see if you still have the issue. Next check for updates (keypad). If still an issue (or if you want right away) call support to troubleshoot. In last effort action, SS may need to ship you a replacement base.
Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

Hi @amandaparson27 ,
Do you know if your Base Station was already disarmed at the time? There are some instances where the Base Station re-sends its current state to the service, to check in. For example, if you were in the Keypad Menu, making changes to settings, and if you leave it alone, it will eventually return to the status screen and announce its current state.
But if your system was armed, and then spontaneously disarmed, that's way more serious. I would strongly suggest working with our Support team for a deeper investigation.

Same issue. Disarmed yesterday and not re-armed. Then, a few moments ago, notification via my app that it was disarmed and the camera took a video. This has been going on for several weeks. I’ll try unplugging and removing the battery, but it sure is strange behavior for a system that has worked flawlessly for years.

Yes, mine just started disarming spontaneously over night/early am 2 hrs before it should!

I have had the issue where I leave home for a few days, in AWAY mode. And occasionally I check on my phone and the system is in OFF mode. That happens several times while I was away for several days.
I wonder if the "automatic test signal received" has anything to do with the situation.

This is happening with my system as well, started today after a base station update. It's very disconcerting and I don't understand why SimpliSafe has allowed this to go on for months without a patch or fix. The fact that they can't or haven't taken the time to fix this makes me concerned about what other things are being neglected behind the scenes. It's making me question my decision to stay with SimpliSafe after 5 years with them, honestly.

I am getting fairly regular messages saying that my disarmed system has been remotely disarmed.

Brand new system that we bought in late November of 2024, set it up 4 days ago, same issues. I’ve yet to be the one to disarm the alarm in the morning—it disarms when it detects motion from the front door camera. I’m calling tomorrow to speak to someone, but this is absurd for a brand new system.

Same issue here, multiple times a day, as we have the cameras with privacy shutters on it means these click open multiple times, kinda defeats the purpose of having privacy shutters..
getting pretty fed up of it now as it’s been going on for so long I no longer remember when it started with no resolution, tried resetting, always ensured base station is updated.
I'm at the point now where I think I’ll just cancel my subscription and take my business somewhere else. The fact this has been going on for some of us with no fix doesn’t exactly fill me with hope on the reliability of the system.

This has just started happening to my system. Yesterday, 5 or 6 times I had the 'System Disarmed by Remote' message so this is not fixed yet.

Mine is fixed since last I posted. It took 2 base station exchanges and now haven’t had a problem since.

My issue - system goes from away to off position by itself -- was resolved. I looked at the "My System" => "Arming Automation" => "Create Schedule."
To my surprise there was an event to turn the alarm off on a Friday at some specific time. So when I was on travel for a couple of weeks, I noticed the system OFF and didn't realize the pattern (Friday) since I didn't check or didn't notice when the system went off.
Anyway, I never set up a scheduled event. The app had this feature set up.
Anyway, I believe my problem is solved.

It's long known in terms and conditions that equipment may be reprocessed, used refurbished supposedly sold as new or swapped out. New vs refurbished & used.
Not knowing how Simplisafe does that internally is an unknown and frankly I personally could care less.
My point is, since one customer at least above took care of the problem switching out multiple bases, it implies, perhaps, that it's not customers having schedules in the base, perhaps it's ghost schedules from previous owners. If a reprocessed piece of equipment was shipped as new or swapped.
One customer had a viewable schedule in his above and removal seemed to fix the issue. That suggest users at least check their app for previous schedules since he said he didn't supposedly put it in. Unknown.
Does Simplisafe "completely" blow out the base station firmware & reload it fresh in used equipment? If not, couldn't that be the cause?
Have you looked at the API calls for bugs?
I don't have the issue and I have two bases in my home. (And 7 useless cameras)
I only get duplicated disarmed backed to armed, & back to disarmed when I'm entering a Home Assistant zone and using geofence arming and disarming for Simplisafe and Home Assistant's Alarmo.
That can be blamed on my Home Assistant zones and probably will be, or my automations OR, it can be blamed on the Simplisafe API or other as above.
There also an outside chance what with phone manufacturers adding battery saving firmware in phones, for example, if I don't force my Samsung S24 Ultra to stay awake and not locked, when I wake it and unlock if it's been asleep quite a while, old notifications will come pouring in.
Some apps work better if battery optimization is turned off and allow run in the background is turned on.
Try this if interested and for your phone model and the SS app. Mostly applicable to Androids. https://dontkillmyapp.com/

How fresh are the batteries in your keypad? I have issues with my system disarming again after I get home (disarms when I put the code in the keypad and then about 10 minutes later spontaneously disarms again). After replacing the batteries in the keypad the problem resolved itself.
