Android app playing incorrect audio on Doorbell press

We received reports of users experiencing a strange issue, where pressing the button on the Video Doorbell Pro prompts the wrong audio from the Android version of the SimpliSafe™ app.

This issue should now be RESOLVED. If you are still experiencing this issue after updating to the latest version of the app, try deleting the app from your phone, then reinstalling from the Play Store. And of course, if you continue to experience the issue even after that, let us know here.

Okay, this is a new one I have never encountered before. 

With the SS app closed:

1. Unlock front door

2. Ring doorbell

The audio for the SS3 installation video begins to play. Close door, lock it and then it stops.  Not a major bug, but very odd.  In case you are interested, SS, it is repeatable!

I run Android 13 with a Motorola G Power 2023

Does that have any usefulness to debug this bug?

I could see a scenario where this audio could be an issue when waiting for the police to respond and someone is hiding and needs to keep quiet

I have a Pixel 8 Pro, and sometime recently (last few weeks), anytime our SimpliSafe camera doorbell is rung, my phone starts playing an audio recording of a woman describing how and where to place your panic button through my phone's speaker. Really bizarre.

When someone rings the door bell, i get the push notification but my phone starts playing audio about setting up a panic button. Has anyone else had this happen and how did you fix it.

I shared this bug with our mailman (Charles, a great guy who has assisted me with testing over the years and was very intrigued with my mailbox sensor :-) and thinks its halarious to have my phone app start playing the install video when he rings ths doorbell and I open the door....or maybe its the expresso I give him a couple of times a week when he walks onto the front porch to personally hand me mail.

Not a deal breaker, but yes Emily, an update on where the engineers are on this one would be appreciated.

Weird that its random and strange or seems to be. I have a Samsung S23 Ultra, Android 14, One UI 6.1 and it plays the sound I chose it to play. So far. 😆

Weird issue here - my doorbell will chime, and notify my phone, but then the woman's voice telling me how to install part of the system (sounds like a keypad?) will begin to play. It does it every time and it's obnoxious.

"To start, pull the battery tab. Most people choose to install the panic button..." etc.

@jbrintle​ If you delete the SimpliSafe mobile app from your phone and redownload it, or reset your Video Doorbell Pro, that should resolve this issue.
