System re-armed by itself

Twice in the past week, our system re-armed itself for no apparent reason.  My wife is up early and turns it off.  She left the house, and came back
a hour later.  She came in and didn't touch anything.  I then opened the back door and the alarm triggered.  If she had left with it armed it would have
gone off.  But it didn't.  The second time it was off and I opened the backdoor and it triggered.

Anyone have this happen before?

@alarm_5742114 there are many posts over the years in the forums where customers have reported this behavior.  I suggest you start with the timeline and see what was posted and note the sensor and times. Using that information, you can call SS support and troubleshoot.

Are you sure someone didn't arm the system on their way out or in with that door open?

If you do, the open door will be ignored until it's closed then the system will treat it like any closed door...will trigger the alarm when opened.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I'm in the house with system in OFF mode, and suddenly without any input, it starts a countdown to AWAY mode. Happened this morning and also yesterday. Zero warning, no input from anywhere.

I am having the same problem. System puts itself in away mode without any external activation. This is  a random occurrence has been occurring last three weeks. Have not seen any solutions posted on line

My system also sets itself to the away mode without any external input. This has been occurring for at least past three weeks. I have not found any postings of a fix for this issue.

@gmtiner2 Do you happen to have any arming schedules set up that could be disarming your account? If you have a schedule to disarm your system, that could be the reason for this. You can check for arming schedules in the SimpliSafe mobile app by taking these steps:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe Mobile App on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

    1. On iOS: Choose Automations, and then Scheduled Arming

    2. On Android: Choose Scheduled Arming

If you do not have an arming schedule set up, please let me know.

Thanks for this information. I will say my reminder alert was on and  scheduled, but the activation was not schedule to set the alarm. But also the reminder times schedule was actually not the same time the alarm was actually setting it self; if that makes any sense so I still don’t know why it alarm itself, but I did turn off my reminder. Hopefully somehow is not connected with the scheduled of setting for the alarm.

Having a similar problem. Our system is arming and disarming itself at random times throughout the day. I spoke to customer service at length yesterday and thought we’d resolved it. But at 1:07 am it happened again. “System armed in Home Mode via Remote”. Very disconcerting, as we’d armed it at 10:20 pm when we went to bed and were sound asleep at 1:07. Some neighbors have SimpliSafe and I wonder if our signals are getting crossed somehow.

@SimplyMartha thanks for reporting. It does look like your system is only reiterating the current state. But I agree that it can be concerning, especially if you're getting notifications in the middle of the night! I have forwarded your info to our engineering team and we're looking into it.

Yes, Four terms to be exact that I am having this very same problem and it’s scaring the crap out of me. Has anyone figured out why this is happening?

Each time this happened, I was nowhere near the pad. Of course I thought I accidentally hit the swab key but this time I was simply sitting watching TV. My phone was nowhere near me and then I heard an alert on my phone and I looked, It was showing that my simplify alarm has been activated.  There is something wrong with this system for too many people to be having the same problem. I will not second-guess myself.
