Keypad
Help please. My keypad lights up and stays on.. It gets dimmer for a little but then goes back to bright on. Did I somehow unknowingly cause this?
Thanks for the help.

Hi @mhshirk ,
The only thing I would add is that the Keypad has a Proximity Sensor that triggers just like the Motion Sensor - in that it's set off by heat signatures moving around nearby. So anything generating heat can trigger it. So it's possible that there's something in the room in front of it that's keeping it awake.
One option is to turn off the Power Saver feature, which disables the proximity sensor entirely. The Keypad will still light up when keys are touched, or when there's an alarm countdown.

@mhshirk Sounds like a defective keypad but you can try two things before calling SS support to troubhelshoot/replace under warranty. First, take out the batteries, wait 30 seconds and then put them back in. (To be extra sure if the batteries are suspect or old, try new ones. Still no luck? Go into your dashboard on their website or into the app and turn on power saving mode. Still no luck: Call SS to replace.
Please post your outcome here if you get a chance. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Captain 11. I will save your information for possible future use. After 2 1/2 days it stopped staying on... it goes dark like its new again. Lol.
Thanks again the helping.

Changed our the door sensor on the door adjacent to the keypad. Presto. The keypad now chirps and visually tells to enter passcode.
