Referral gift card issue?

I referred my MIL to simplisafe and ordered her equipment for her using the link 1/1, then installed it for her and set up service 1/7. Now I am going round and round trying to find out where $100 visa card is and when I am supposed to get it. I am supposed to get it 30 days after the order was placed. I reached out to simplisafe support 2/10 and was told "I guarantee you will get the email with a link to the e-gift card on Monday 2/13. I did not get anything. Now I am being sent to a third party (help@tremendous.com) to track this down and the person at simplisafe I spoke with today had no other way to assist me.

I feel like this is now on me to chase down something that was supposed to arrive on its own in 30 days. Who can help me look into this to get it straightened out? Makes me want to never refer anyone else again if simplisafe is not holding up its end of the deal.

I had the virtual card issued with 5 months validity and it expired. Now Tremendous is saying they can't do anything about it. They are asking me to contact Simplisafe for a reissue. Nice chasing our tails.

Support originally told me I'd see my gift card 30 days after delivery. Not seeing it, I contacted SimpliSafe Support chat. They verified the order info and said the wait is actually 45 days. Now I'm waiting patiently.

I referred my son and he got the system.  However, the link that he needed to click on to process the set-up/purchase in order for me to get the referral credit wasn't working.  So he called customer service and had to set it up that way. He was told that I could still get my referral gift and they would put it on his account.  We called about getting it, and they said to wait for 30 days and I would get an email.  60+ days went by and still no email, so I called. I was told that because he had to set it up over the phone, SimpliSafe was not able to give me my $100 referral gift.  It ONLY worked if done with the link online.  To me, this is FALSE ADVERTISING.  You either have a referral program or you don't.  I don't want to refer them to anyone if this is the way they treat their customers.

@ejmazz​ we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Yes, that referral incentive goes through a different system, which our support agents don't have access (they can't just give away gift cards on their own). I've requested a call from a senior team so we can find a solution that works for you!

I’ve had the same issue with an account that my brother registered back in FEBRUARY. Now it’s June 15 and they’re telling me the same go around with no referral $ in sight. I’m losing trust in this company and we’re both on the verge of cancelling if they’re lying to us.

I referred 2 friends with the links who both activated thier accounts and was told I would receive $200 gift cards a piece for the referrals. This is the 4th time I have called simply safe customer service well after 45 days an still have not received either gift card. Also the promo special for my referrals were 50 percent off equipment and a $100 gift card for activation. It has been well after 45 days and nether of my referrals have received their gift cards either. We continue to call and they continue to say we all will receive them but noting happens. I have been with simply safe for years and even referred them business and we are getting the run around about what was promised.

I've referred a family member and used the link provided to me by simplisafe to do so.  I've called support several times and they keep telling me to "wait X number of days and you will get the email to complete the process".  The email never comes.  Its been over 6 months and I've still not received anything for referring a friend and all I get is the run around.  This is false advertising plain and simple if simplisafe is not going to follow through on what they advertise as a promotion.  Can someone who understands this process contact me to help me resolve it?

I’m calling false advertising at this point with these $200 giftcard referrals. I’m sad / glad to see I’m not the only one dealing with this. It’s been 7 months since my parents used my referral link, 4 phone calls later over the last 5 months and I still don’t have a giftcard. Each person I talk to ask for the same information over and over again. My parent’s names, their order number, their base station number, all the information they ask for! Every time I call again and again they seem to have magically lost all that information I’ve already given them. The sales team doesn’t have a direct line, so the customer service people have to reach out to them. They have put in 3 TICKETS for me regarding the gift card not being send on my behalf. What a frustrating false advertising experience. Can anyone from SimpliSafe help?? A security company with such poor communication is definitely not reassuring.

I referred my mother in law also. She received the system in May. Activated it in June. During this time I spoke with customer support three times. The first time they told me I would need to wait 45 days. The second time they told me she needs to activate the system for me to receive my reward. The third time they asked me for the order number that SHE received on her account. How am I supposed to know HER order number? In any case, it’s now the end of August, 90 days later, and I haven’t received anything. Customer supposed was a complete waste of time also.

We work with a third party for our referral program and our support agents don't have access to that system, which makes troubleshooting on their end a little harder. I ordered and setup 3 simplisafe systems at 3 different homes . I was supposed to receive 3 $100 gift cards but have only received 1 . The accounts were setup in May /June of this year. Have made 4 phone calls to Simplisafe customer service to no avail.. I have been a simplisafe customer for 10 years . I am very disappointed with the way simplisafe is handling this so called promotion. 
can someone at simplisafe help me get my remaining 2 gift cards ?

Same. I think it’s a scam. It’s been over 50 days and I’ve contacted SimpliSafe 5 times. Was told I’d get the gift card this week. If not, I’m contacting the BBB to file a complaint. This is ridiculous and seems scammy.

This is complete BS. I did the same thing for my parents. I ordered all their equipment, I set it up and made sure it was all working properly. I have followed up several times about my gift card  and NEVER have received anything. At this point I am going to steer people away from this company unless I get my gift card soon.

@brandonharris1981 how long ago did your parents order their SimpliSafe system using your referral link? The third-party we work with will send the gift card out 45 days after your referral link was used to purchase a SimpliSafe system. But if it has been more than 45 days, please let us know and we can get you in touch with a specialist.

@simplisafe_admin​ As these posts continue, either the 3rd party vendor continues to have issues, or, the information on the program {https://support.simplisafe.com/articles/orders-warranty/simplisafe-referral-program/634479eceb3c8e382dd025df) is not fully understood by customers taking the offer.

Suggest SS MarCom takes another crack at it and review it, carefully, to make it easier to understand and follow, especially the required 45 days waiting period.

It is troublesome to continue to read post after post on this. Thank you.

@simplisafe_admin​ I can't remember at this point. But almost 2 years now. SimpliSafe needs to just make right and issue these gift cards on their own and then get reimbursed after the fact from their 3rd party vendor. All SimpliSafe has done is try to pass the buck/blame to another organization instead of owning up to their mistakes and doing the right thing. SimpliSafe has clearly made THOUSANDS in continued revenue off of these referrals. If you have any real intentions of doing what was advertised then contact me directly via my email.

False Advertising - Federal Trade Commission:  4 months of multiple calls/emails, sending detailed documentation of the referral, and promises in writing and verbally "this time" of the $200 referral gift card. This is clearly false advertising and I am sorry to say I have joined the throngs of others who are being misled.  I will be reaching out to the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection. This is just not right. 

@SSam​ 100% Please do, what a scam. They've made and continue to make THOUSANDS in continued revenue, it's not like they can't afford to pay us with a small fraction of the money we've made them.

I know others have received the same message with no resolution so I am cautiously optimistic. I will wait until next week to file my personal complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs. Thank you.
