Can Alerts be Pushed to More Than One Smart Phone

New Simplisafe installed.  Trying to figure out how to configure it.  I want my phone and my husband's phone to be able to monitor the system.  We both installed the mobile application on our respective phones.  We are using the same id to login to the mobile app as I was told by SS support that two diff users could not view the same system.  So we have one account for apps on each of our phones.  I have configured email alerts to go to both of us.  But I can't get his phone to allow push notifications.  The work on my phone.  Push notifications do work on his phone for other apps.  He has iPhone 11Pro. From the mobile app on his phone, I go to Settings, Notifications, SS app and "allow notifications" is on as are all three alert types.  Banner Style is Persistent.  All of this is the same as what is on my phone.  But from the SS app on his phone,  push notifications says, "Push Notifications from Simplisafe are Disabled.  Please go to your phone's settings screen to give permission."

Is SS app able to have push notifications sent to two diff phones?  Does anyone else have this working?  It would be a shame if only one phone can get alerts!  Any help is appreciated.  Also, how do I search the forum for a topic similar to this one.  I didn't see a search bar for me to type in a question.

New user.

Thank you,
Karen

Hi all,

If you are logged into the SimpliSafe app on multiple devices, but with the same SimpliSafe account (email and password), then all devices should be getting Push Notifications by default. If you are not getting those Push notifications, you can head over to this Help Center page for troubleshooting.

@davey_d Would like to see a bump on this topic in regards to each home occupant being able to have their own SS account. Sharing passwords even amongst family is not ideal, not to mention the 2 factor auth headache that creates.

Completely agree with ztm265. I just set up my system yesterday only to find that I can not enable a secondary account to have access to the system.  The work-arounds are complicated and less than ideal.

Am considering sending the whole thing back in favor of a system that is actually "simple".

We use Simplisafe's app in Android.  Two phones, two tablets.  All alert just fine.  Don't know if that helps.

The forums are very elementary.  No search function, no alert when there is a response. Pretty lousy.

We had the exact same problem, Karen. Two up to date iPhones, with the exact same settings as you describe them... but one phone does not receive the push notifications...  uninstalling the app and reinstalling it on the offending iPhone solved the issue. Best, R./

When you are using two iPhones to use the Simplisafe mobile app and access you security system -- Are you using the same login account for both -- or do you have to create a second account?

Thank you in Advance!

All who want to use the remote app to control a given account must log in to that account using the same user ID and password.

@whoaru99 That seems like a pretty large security oversight. Even if you are married everybody should have their own account.

Doesn't bother me at all, but I understand it causes great angst for some others.

Biggest issue for us is that if my wife tries to log in it sends the code to my phone. Should be able to set it up so that each phone can get sent it's own code or both phones get sent the code.

@Demirnus If you haven't already, I would recommend setting up Multi-Factor Authentication on your account. With Multi-Factor Authentication enabled, you can register multiple phone numbers to your account; so when your wife goes to log into your SimpliSafe account, a verification code will be sent to her phone.

To learn more about setting up Multi-Factor Authentication, check out the Multi-Factor Authentication for SimpliSafe article in our Help Center.
