How to get my subscription cancelled

I have been trying for several weeks to get my subscription cancelled on a camera that has been disconnected for over 6 months and no longer have. I have tried doing it through the SimpliSafe app and am locked out of many of the options to click on. I called customer service and was told with the serial number of the camera, I would have to escalate the issue. The rep could not understand why certain links on the website were locked for me. I have sent 3 emails to the address they provided over the last 2 weeks and have not had a response. When calling customer service again was told the same process and that I needed to email. Does anyone have any ideas other than just reporting it as fraudulent activity to my bank?!

@cortney9397 Suggest you call support and ask for a callback from a supervisor or manager. Also, by posting here, I am sure Emily, Davey or someone from SS will reach out to you tomorrow.

Hi @cortney9397 

If you know your Safe Word, you can cancel at any time by calling 1-888-783-8441. The Safe Word is a requirement of canceling, to ensure that it is the Primary Contact making the request to remove a monitoring subscription. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

That phone number does not work.  

I am chatting with support on my phone AND online and both are telling me to 'go to my bank' to challenge the charges!  WTF!?

The phone number that shows up via their bot also does not work.  This is really some of the worst support I've ever received.  This should be a simple 'cancel subscription' option in my account!

@design7712​ In order to downgrade or cancel a monitoring subscription, we do need to verbally confirm your Safe Word to ensure that you are the person making this request. The 1-888-783-8441 number provided above is a correct number to call if you want to change your monitoring plan. Was that number not working for you? There may be a short wait time, but line should be staffed with support agents who are ready to help.

i just tried calling to cancel and they told me that i couldnt cancel my plan and that none of my equipment will work if i cancel. is that true? i don't want to pay a monthly fee i just want the alarm and the cameras. how do i do this? why is it so hard???

@afchick9287​ I'm afraid you were given incorrect information. You are able to cancel or downgrade your monitoring plan at any time. Just give our Support team a call, and after verbally confirming your Safe Word they will complete the process. 

And if you downgrade to our free, Basic App Control plan, your SimpliSafe devices will still be active and protect your home. The only caveat is if you have any cameras, they will not record or store any footage when subscribed to the Basic App Control plan. But they will still notify you of motion and you can livestream them.
