Remote FOB battery replacement- How to?
There are no directions how to replace the CR1632 battery in the black remote FOB. No battery door either. Tried to pry it open and set off the panic alarm (red end piece). Didn't know that was there either. Can someone post a YouTube video?

The Black Keyfob for the All-New SimpliSafe does not have a replaceable battery. At this time, if the Keyfob stops working for any reason, it can be replaced under its three-year warranty. Please contact our Support Team to see about getting the Keyfob replaced.

Here is a suggestion for the next generation. A tiny red LED that blinks feedback to show you pushed the button and an access door to replace the coin battery before it's dead.

A ton of us bought SS3 in the beginning of 2018, and we all asked you how you were going to address the non-battery thing. All we got were crickets.
So now, we get to pay extra again, at 24.99 apiece? Hope SS is better than that, as that's a pretty shady tactic, since you sort of overlooked the battery compartment thing.

Hey Team S - the crickets are getting quieter. Is SS going to do the right thing or not?

I changed the battery in my fob with some trial and error. There are snap fits near the fabric loop end I used a flat blade precision screwdriver to pry cover sections apart.

I just called SimpliSafe about the fob battery and they said it cannot be replaced, but they would send out a new fob at no charge! Great Customer Service! Thanks Pamela!

Hmm. Maybe there are different versions out there. I could pry mine open by trial and error but prying left nicks in the plastic π. Snaps are about 1/2 inch from the ends if I recall correctly. Hopefully replacement fobs arenβt expensive.

It took me about 5 minutes on Chat for them to send me a new one for no charge and a label for return of the failed fob. Excellent service.

Key fob has a 2032 button battery. If you insert a butter knife in the end with the cloth loop and gently twist, the fob will pop open on that end, releasing the two holed cloth ribbon and revealing the button cell battery. Slide the battery out, replace, and reattach the cloth ribbon as you snap the fob closed.
