Don't even consider refer-a-friend and expect the promised $200 Visa card
Referred my sister July 7, 2024 through the refer-a-friend promotion. I was to receive a $200 Visa after her system was monitored and paid after 45 days. That was 5 months ago. Repeated calls, they agreed the system had been correctly purchased through the required link, spoke to multiple people and supervisors, call was escalated and still nothing. Saw on Facebook they are offering the same deal currently. Posted comment on FB warning that the Visa card promise is a scam.

@lsweygandt Two parts to my response in this post. First to you: SS, while sometimes insanely inept, are very customer oriented, with great associates and products. I personally have placed over 30 some odd systems over the years and with the exception of 2 are still in use, some over 10 years and include family members, friends, former coworkers etc. Suggest you call and politely ask for your issue to be escalated.
Now your turn SS. We have heard before this referral program has been assigned to a third party. Now read the following, slowly:
You picked 'em. You are directly responsible for them. Good or bad.
Now, get it in gear, escalate to the CEO if you have to and get it fixed.
I hate seeing repeated posts on this. Fix it. Please. (Free hint: This is where a SS moderator posts they are personally picking up the ball and will be fixed within 24 hours.)

@lsweygandt We sincerely apologize for this issue. Gift cards from the referral program should be sent out 45 days after a system is purchased using your referral link.
We have forwarded your case details to our escalated Support team, and a senior agent will be in touch very soon to make this right.

I'm a social worker who works with the elderly. Based on the referral promise from SimpliSafe, I decided to start a program to put the system in the homes of our elderly in the community. I would help them every step of the way. I would install the system, set up the phone app, sign up for monitoring and train them on everything. I would change nothing for my service to the elderly. My payment would be the promised gift card from SimpliSafe in 45 days. I spent several hours helping my first elderly women. She's 85 and living alone. We finally got it all set up and she told me, "I slept good for the first time in years feeling secure with SimpliSafe." She was so thankful. So here I am and no gift card! Nothing. I feel scammed. I've called twice having to spend 45 minutes going through this long verification process. Finally being told, yes you're right and you'll get your gift card. WRONG. After another call today, I'm at the "wait another 5-7 days." I don't feel hopeful. I have other elderly people who want me to install their system. Unfortunately, I will not continue to refer SimpliSafe. I figure I'll just keep trying for the one gift card I'm owed and then be done with my idea of helping put in SimpliSafe systems for the elderly. Too bad really. It could have been a win for our elderly, for SimpliSafe and for me.
