Beware of canceling monitoring services
Simply safe immediately canceled all of my warranties for EVERYTHING after canceling my monitoring services that cost over $30 per month. Not only that unbeknownst to me or them notifying me of the fact that my mobile app would not work for 24 hours. As of 2 hours of canceling, my mobile app does not work or give me access to camers or anything, asks me to create a new system from scratch...wtf. after talking to customer service they told me don't worry it will work again in 24 hours... what the f kind of security system says that!??? This is terrible service for a "security system " in my opinion. Look elsewhere.

So sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble.
For all SimpliSafe equipment, there is a default 1-year Warranty, which covers replacements when necessary. However, if you subscribe to the $29.99 Fast Protect Monitoring Plan, the warranty is extended to a lifetime warranty, for as long as your are subscribed. But that doesn't mean we're not longer able to help! Our Support team would be happy to continue exploring options.
However, it sounds like what happened for your account i that we canceled your service, instead of downgrading to Basic App Control.
A canceled account frees up your system equipment so it can be used with in another monitoring plan (e.g. if you want to give your system to another user, or are returning the system to us for a refund). Simply put, you'd want to choose the Cancel option if you no longer want to use this system at all.
Basic App Control is the no-cost tier that allows you to continue using the SimpliSafe app for basic functions - like arming and disarming remotely, changing settings, and receiving alarm push notifications. You of course lose access to features like 24/7 monitoring, cellular backup for the Base Station, and camera recordings.
Since you actually want to continue using your system, just without the monthly subscription, Basic App Control should be the right option for you.
Please contact our Support team again. We'll just need to confirm your identity, then we can reactivate your account, then downgrade to the right service level.

The same thing happened to me today. I called to cancel monitoring as well and I guess the dude was so offended that I didn't want to accept his offer that he cut everything off, no grace period and def not until the next billing. They just took my money and said that the cancel happened immediately. Cut off my camera, and when I called back they said I had asked to cut the monitoring. I said, yes on the monitoring but that shouldn't mean my camera doesn't work! She said that when I cut off monitoring services, it shut everything off. And I told her, independent of whether or not I pay for monitoring, the camera should still work! So they need to either make it work again or refund the money for the camera!
I wish I had seen this post earlier. After having to reset my camera, it now doesn't work at all. She got off the phone with me before I got it to work again. WTF kind of "security" company is this?
I can buy a security camera for the cost of the "monitoring" and it works much better than this POS.
