System sound management

Some of the audible indications from the system are absolutely necessary, but a low battery signal should *never* wake me up at night by beeping, particularly if the system is off. The software could be enhanced to allow customization of these alerts. For example, I’d prefer alerts for non-urgent issues such as this by text or email rather than repeated sounds. A more sophisticated enhancement could limit non-urgent audibles to certain times of day.

@ScottWF we do have an open request to create a Do Not Disturb setting for the Base Station's voice prompts with our devs, but we will submit your suggestion of customizing these alerts to the team as well.

If/when it is taken into development, we will provide an update here.

@ScottWF My base has been on silent, no lights for years. A message will appear on the keypad the battery is low. No need for any sounds!

@captain11 Thanks! I'll try turning off the Voice Prompts, but this low battery condition showed up as a "Sensor Not Responding," and emitted a repeating chime. I don't see a setting to turn that off.

@ScottWF That sounds like the Trouble Signal. It is a three-note chime that sounds whenever the Base Station detects a potential issue with your system - like if a sensor is not responding.

You can lower the volume of the Trouble Signal, or turn it off completely using the Keypad. Go to Menu > System Settings > Trouble Signal and select your desired volume.
