Where to change credit card for billing?

I got a message that I need to update my credit card as the old one expired. The message says "Please update your billing information online so that service is not cancelled."

I can't find anyplace in my account to update the credit card. https://webapp.simplisafe.com/#/account

Where is the link to the billing information?

Hi folks,

Yep, on the webapp, you can find payment options in the Monitoring section.

You can also change payment info through the SimpliSafe app, under Settings > Plan + Billing.

@marty3dcaa4 You can add a new credit card, or update a card's information, in the web app using the steps provided in this Help Center article.

If you would like to remove a credit card from your account, please contact our Support team and they can help you with that.

Really? I have to contact support to do something that should be on the website? That is unacceptable.

I found mine here: https://webapp.simplisafe.com/#/monitoring
At the top where it shows your monitoring plan it has the monthly price, monitoring company phone number and then the credit card payment method.  Under that it says "edit", where you can change the payment method.

Well, Simplisafe, that was very intuitive... if I'm looking for the place to change my billing information online, I will know immediately that it's under "Monitoring" - WOW!!!

@waldis the reasoning is that you'd want to change the billing for your recurring Monitoring charge. That's why it's under the Monitoring section. The only other time we'd need your payment info is when purchasing equipment, which just prompts you to enter that info at the time of purchase.

I'll forward the suggestion about updating our documentation to make that clearer.

I adhere to the KISS principal and a nice big fat link PAY MY BILL link would have saved me an hour of looking where to PAY MY BILL.

Why is it so hard to add a new credit card, the old one allows for edit only.

There shd be an option for delete credit card and add credit card.

You would think that a subscription service would make it super easy to give them money. I doubt if they even read these comments.

They must have hired the DEI grads from MIT, Harward or Upenn

to create and maintain this website.

I agree with all of the comments above. The app has a section called "Planning & Billing". You should add the same section to your website. There should be consistency. You should not shift this section to the "Monitoring" section of the app. That would be idiotic. Also, I should be able to delete credit card info without calling customer service and wasting 15 mins of my time.

It is absolutely not true that you can change it on the web. You can ONLY do it via the App. If you find your payment method on the web, and click the edit button, sure, it shows you the credit card info for the card you're using. And I think you can probably change the expiration date. But if you've had to get a new card (which is what I needed, as mine had been compromised), you absolutely cannot enter a new credit card number and update to that account. You can only do it on the App. Which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Moreover, your old card info stays in their system. In my case it doesn't matter, 'cause the card is dead. But for a lot of people, maybe they just want to shift payment to a different card, but are still using the old one for some other purposes. Tough luck. Thank you very much, Mr. Customer. Of course, you can call them and ask them to remove it from their system.  Ridiculous.
