Power Outage

Was notified of a power outage by power company at 11:36.  Power was restored at 11:58.   Simplisafe also reported power outage at 11:40. It is now 1:10 and the basestation and cameras are still out.   I'll bet there is a good explanation for this?????

@cornholio Did you check your breaker box? Was the breaker tripped? Is there power to the outlet the base is plugged into? If in a power strip, indicator light on if it has one? Power to  your router? When we have a brief outage (or I shut the power off to do some work, most of the time all 7 of my cameras come back online, ditto for the base.  If you confirm your router and base do have power, then I would then call support for an explanation.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

@captain11   None of the things that you mentioned were the problem.  When the power goes down here, it's a hurricane, a squirrel commits suicide by electrocution, or a transformer blows.  Had to reset the base station.  Wifi was good after power was restored.  What I find disturbing is that the base battery backup failed.

@cornholio Thanks for confirming your power definitely came back on. Both the base and cameras should have come back online and  you should have received a notification of same.  What did support say when you called them?

@captain11   Yeah, the base powered up 5 hours after the power was restored.  I will replace the base batteries since the ones in there now aren't reliable.  I also got notifications.  I didn't call support.  I did a few weeks ago, but all I got was misinformation.   Since SS has gone to overseas support, they have really gone downhill.   Not just my opinion, but many others on this forum as well.

@cornholio you shouldn't have to pay to replace the batteries. I would call support and ask them to send a new set and no charge
