Outdoor Camera Original And Series 2: Mounting and Wind

I have two outdoor cameras, one the original model that has been in place for quite some time and a Series 2 camera.  Both are on the standard magnetic mount with the SS AC power cord attached. Prior to the Series 2 an original OD camera was there and both it and the other had no issues. Within the past 3 months the Series 2 camera has shown in the app on battery power. I climbed the ladder and saw in both instances the power cord was loose with a quick pushing it back in took care of the problem.

Really didn't think much about it until it has now occurred a third time. Given the audio mount extension on the bottom a greater footprint and the typical Chicagoland winds may be the cause.  This time I made sure the power cable has a bit more give on it to see if that will keep the plug in the camera firm and trouble free. Other than this, all 7 of my cameras continue to perform well, mechanically and operationally.

I see a lot or several...of these types of posts. It's either defective cables or detective cameras receptacles for the cables. Push hard, both thumbs. πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰.

LOL. I will go with my "large profile with the Series 2" theory with the wind.  There is now an extra inch length to the power cable to the camera so will see if that addresses the issue. When I pressed on the connector, it instantly showed AC power in the app.

@captain11 To ensure a water-tight seal, it may take a little extra force when plugging the power cable into the Outdoor Camera to ensure it's inserted all the way. If possible, we recommend pushing the cable in using both thumbs. This adds a little extra pressure on the cable, and can help it snap into place all the way. But if you continue to notice this behavior, please let us know.
