Keypad Improvement Suggestions

I have two suggestions for improving the keypad functionality, the first one being the more important one...

1) The keypad indicates if any sensors are open, but only when the system is disarmed.  As soon as it is armed, the indicator disappears.  WHY?  

Scenario A: I am about to retire for the evening and I use the downstairs keypad to arm the system.  The keypad shows me that two sensors are open and announces the same when I arm it, then the open sensor indicator disappears.  I intend to close the open windows upstairs before going to bed, but something distracts me and I forget.  I wake up later in the night, wondering if I remembered to close the windows - I could check the keypad in my bedroom to see this IF it showed the indicator.  Instead I have to get out of bed and go to where the windows might be open to verify if I've closed them, or disarm the system to see if the indicator is there, then re-arm it.

Scenario B:  I've fallen asleep while watching TV at night.  The system auto-arms itself at say, 10:00 PM.  I wake up at 11:00 PM - the system is armed, but I have can't tell if there are any open sensors because the keypad doesn't show the indicator when the system is armed.  I have to disarm the system to see if the indicator is there, then re-arm it, or walk through the house checking all the doors and windows.

Keeping the open sensor indicator on, even when the system is armed, would make both of the above scenarios much easier to deal with.

2) I have a keypad mounted on the wall in my bedroom.  It would be great if it had an LED to indicate whether the system is armed or not, say a green light for not armed and a red light for armed.  Then when I wake up in the middle of the night I can tell at a glance whether it is armed.
