Video Doorbell Using Excessive Data
My video doorbell pro is using excessive data. Over the past month it has used the third most bandwidth in my home, with over 3 TB used, trailing only our two most used streaming devices. I can't figure out why this is happening. It only has a handful of motion events and notifications/recordings per day, on par with my two fixed outdoor cameras (which have used around or less than 1GB each over the past month). Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've included screenshots.

Hi @weathertom ,
Gosh, that really is an insane amount of data.
Filesize will vary because our streaming tech uses variable bitrate. But some quick napkin math says that 1.1GB should be about right for 30 days of recordings. I'm not sure how it could even be possible to push through 3000x more than that.
I'll forward your case to our tech team so we can investigate.

I am new to Simply Safe systems and the outdoor cameras/doorbell camera. I am having the same problem with using a large amount of data this month. I went from .25GB to 2GB.
Was there a solution to this problem?

Not really. At one point I was using over 1 TB for a few days. It has now settled back into the 5-100 GB range most days. I honestly don't think it's actual bandwidth to/from the internet, but just local bandwidth communicating with the base station, so I've given up trying to figure it out.
