Doorbell Humming even with a Chime Connector installed
After installing a camera for my front door, my doorbell box inside the home was making a "buzz/humming" sound. I got a chime connector from SimpliSafe and installed it but the buzzing has not stopped

Hi @ScottD413 ,
Our Support team might have asked this already, but I wanted to double-check just in case. Do you know if your wired doorbell system is analog/mechanical or digital, or a multi-tone type? Unfortunately, the Video Doorbell Pro is designed only for analog systems, which is what most households have.

The same thing is happening here. There was no humming with the old-fashioned regular doorbell button, it only started after replacing it with SimpliSafe’s. There’s no possibility of something being connected wrong, if anything because the chime rings inside when the button is pressed. It’s a Utilitech chime, is there a reason why it wouldn’t be compatible?

Check for diode at exterior doorbell connections. This buzzing happened at my house. Replaced digital chime with mechanical. Installed new transformer. Still buzzing if connected and the chime connector body was getting VERY hot fast. SimpliSafe technician and Electrician could not diagnose.
Diode! My engineer brain kicked in overnight. We had added a diode to the rear button to get the digital chime to work a few years ago when it was new. The mechanical chime is incompatible with a diode installed. This caused the buzzing. I got the new doorbell installed and working as soon as it was removed
