All of your SimpliSafe sensors check in with the Base Station regularly, and "offline" means that it's been a while since that device has been successful. Check out this guide for troubleshooting on our Help Center.
I had to re-add all of my door sensors and motion sensors a couple of days after installing my updated cell module. I noticed that the door chime had stopped working. A tech on the phone prompted me to re-add the door sensors but I figured out on my own that the motion sensors were not showing up under Devices. The Doorbell camera and the Driveway camera were the only devices that did not have to be re-installed
@mntainbike it sounds like you're having a totally different issue from the original poster. Also seems that you were already able to come to a solution. If you see any more error messages, or if your system starts to act up again, please do let us know.
@dseitz where are you seeing that 'offline' message? If it's on the SimpliSafe app, I suggest pulling down on the Overview page, which will refresh the app and pull the most recent info from your system.
I’ve had the same issue after having dead batteries on 2 sensors. When running test mode and pushing the buttons on each, I get an acknowledgement from the base station. However, both devices still show “offline”. Do I need to do anything after replacing batteries to get the devices back online?…or will the base station check in automatically?
That "Offline" message - are you seeing that on the SimplISafe app? If so, you might need to refresh the app by pulling down on the Overview page. That will request the most recent data from your SimpliSafe system.
this offline crap on door sensors is getting out of hand. I've had to reset the front door sensor 2 times within the last couple of days. Before it was the back door sensor. Never had this issue with the original simplisafe sensors. With you would go back to those sensors instead of these cheap-looking ones that want to go offline all the time.
and before you ask, I'm getting alerts, by text and email and keypad. I'm scared to go out of town and set this darn thing afraid I'm going to get a call that someone has broke in---or come home and find someone really did break in and the sensor says it's offline..... Been with simplisafe almost 7 years, never had sensor issues like this.
@jcleavitt Are you experiencing an Offline error message for just a single Entry Sensor? In that case, it generally means that the battery in the device is low and needs to be replaced with a new CR-2032 battery. For more details, check out the Entry Sensor Offline article in our Help Center.

How am I supposed to get a device back *online& if it says it's offline?? The link provided above is useless for this issue.
