Integration Authorization Code

Hello - Integration of SimpliSafe with Home Automation requires a 45-character Authorization Code. Does anyone knows how do I get one? Thanks. Eric

Hi @efi2712 ,

Unfortunately, SimpliSafe does not support integration with third parties other than what is already included as part of Interactive Monitoring Service - that is, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and August Smart Lock. So we're not able to provide much further assistance.

If you were to follow the instructions as written in your screenshot, you do so at your own risk. And of course, if something changes within our system, or with that third party's method of integration, we can't guarantee that functionality will remain the same.

That's not an answer, that's a dodge. How do we get the authorization code?

I also have been trying to add simply safe to my home assistant but unable to unless you subscribe to their monthly monitoring program.  Simply Safe is clearly only interested in selling more services and I certainly will not be an advocate of this product. Simply Poor product service.

Ok, here's a hack that seems to work. I did this with Chrome on MacOS, so if your system is different (or they change something) YMMV.

  • Log into your simplisafe account in a browser, and then open up the developer console. Specifically go to the network traffic tab.
  • Copy the "here" link from the Home Automation dialog into the browser, and let it not work (if it does the MFA email login, fine, but for me it was a gray screen).
  • One of the requests you'll see in the network traffic log should have a 302 HTTP code and look like this: com.simplisafe.mobile://auth.simplisafe.com/ios/com.simplisafe.mobile/callback?code=abc123
  • That "abc123" is the auth code you need. Copy paste that back into your Home Automation dialog.

Update: https://simplisafe-python.readthedocs.io/en/latest/usage.html#authentication is a cleaner way, if you're comfortable with running Python libraries.

@gharman This is the ONLY way that worked for me (short of trying the Python route, which I'm not completely skilled enough for just yet.) Thank you !!!!!
