The outside camera's are only battery powered!

This would have been something I would have liked to know, or they should just come with solar panels. I had my system installed on Saturday and by that night the batteries were dead. I recharged (full) and by the end of the next day the front battery was dead again. My camera is pointed down, to the point that the only thing I can see is the driveway. In other words, if someone pulled in front of my home, nothing would be recorded. This is just ridiculous! Not please at all!

@sallyjanemathews The Outdoor Camera is battery-powered, but we do offer a solar panel and power cable to keep its battery charged. There are also camera settings you can turn on in the app to extend the camera's battery life. We highlight the different settings you can turn on, and the best way to position the camera if it's in a high-traffic area, in this Help Center article

@sallyjanemathews Highly recommend the AC adapter kit. I planned for AC power from the start and have two outdoor cameras directly connected to AC. Also, SS is working on firmware update to  provide "instant on" to stream when connected to AC.

I have 4 of my outdoor cameras on solar and one on the power cord and have absolutely no issues and never have to worry about them what's so ever.

@lance843 Add me and 5 other customers I checked with (I recommended them all and installed 2 of them) and no issues with AC powered OD cameras.

I plugged a remote battery operated camera into a extender supplied by simple safe. It seems not to be any different in operation and the battery still goes dead. What’s the issue here. And yes the 110v outlet is good.

@bobddd961 I'd first check to ensure that the power cable is plugged into the Outdoor Camera all the way. When plugging it in, we recommend firmly pressing the cable into the camera, using both thumbs if possible. You'll know that the cable is plugged in all the way when it's flush to the camera.

But if the cable is completely flush, that may indicate an issue with it. In that case, please reach out to our Support team for further assistance.

Unfortunately, someone came into my backyard and shattered my patio table and my camera missed it. No idea who it was and therefore cannot press charges or get it replaced.

Thousands of dollars for a security system that doesn’t provide security
