SS 2 in 1 Smoke and CO vs SS Smoke and separate CO detector?

I want to add additional CO detection to my home. What has been the user experience with the new SS 2 in 1 Smoke and CO detector? Should I get some of those or just get the gen3 SS Smoke detectors and another vendor's CO detectors? Thanks for any input on this. Dave

@dave_6393f6 I purchased one and added to our upstairs hallway. I have 3 CO sensors and six of the original smoke. Footprint is significantly smaller, easy install and so far no issues.  As my other sensors, all purchased in 2017-2019, reach the end of their useful lives I will convert to the new 2 in 1. BTW, on the topic of new hardware, the new SA lifeguard cameras are awesome, but I do give a thumbs down on the new Gen2 motion sensor.  My reviews are in another thread on those.

Finally, which one to get is really what you need. For my money, paying a little extra and having both in each bedroom may be over doing it, but for my family's safefy, having the smoke and CO in each room is a good idea. (if you want and can spend a bit more).

"the new SA lifeguard cameras are awesome" are these SS cameras or another vendor? Indoor or outdoor?

@dave_6393f6 They are made by SS and are indoor only. Make sure you read the specs carefully. For example, while on the SImplicam the motion detection will only start recording, the much improved motion sensor on these cameras can start recording and, if set to do so, set off the alarm.
