Gen. 1 smoke detector
I have the original first generation system. One of my smoke detectors isn't working and the new ones sold by Simplisafe and Amazon are not compatible. If I find a first generation model, can I use it with my system? Found a new boxed generation one unit but not sure if it will interface with my system.... anyone know?? Trying to get someone live at Simplisafe is like trying to get the Pope on the phone.

@Captainjohn1 Yes, unfortunately the Smoke Detectors for the Original SimpliSafe System are not in stock. But if you do find an original Smoke Detector from another retailer, it will be compatible with your system.

@Captainjohn1 I am definitely not the Pope, but just wanted to add that smoke sensors have, at max, a 1o year life span. The original SS1 has been out longer than that so if you do buy a gen1 sensor it may be dead on arrival. Suggest you call SS and see what kind of upgrade deal they can get for you.
