Smart Lock ... what if not perfectly aligned?
Just bought Smart Lock for our existing deadbolt. We will be getting new doors within 2-3 months, but I wanted to start using the Smart Lock right away on our existing deadbolt.
However, our current door isn't perfectly aligned. Sometimes the deadbolt slides smoothly if the door is closed shut with some decent force, but sometimes it won't slide smoothly and briefly hits the latch hole where the deadbolt goes into. Usually it won't stop the deadbolt though, but there is a brief moment where it "catches". Occasionally it won't go at all and I have to give the door just a slight nudge and then the deadbolt will then slide in fine.
Will this cause issues with the smart lock? Could it damage the smart lock at all? Does the smart lock "sense" if the deadbolt is not moving?

Hi @Yngvai,
Your current door should not cause any issues or damage your Smart Lock. If you try to lock your door and the deadbolt doesn't latch correctly, your Smart Lock will give you an error message and revert to its unlocked position. With the error message, you'll know that you might need to apply a little pressure on your door and then try locking it again.
