Status Light on the Keypad

We were using Brinx previously and it was nice to see a red or green light on the touch panel near the front door, while standing at the back door about to open it.  I can’t see either of my SimpliSafe touch panels from the back door but that light would be nice for my kids.  As a workaround, if you integrated with IFTTT I could turn a light on or off with the status of the alarm and that would be super nice!

Hi @jhiltabidel ,

I will add to @emily_s 's response as well. You may notice that while the Keypad does indicate the current armed status on the screen, it does turn off automatically if there's no one nearby. This is to save battery life on the Keypad. This is also why it doesn't have a constantly-on LED indicator for armed state.

Of course, the Base Station (since it's plugged in all the time) doesn't have this problem. So when the system is armed, the Base does produce a constant blue light. At this time, there's just the one indicator for Home and Away modes.

@davey_d ah ha.  OK, the base station is in another room, up on a shelf and we never see it. So I’ll look at it and consider moving it to a more visible location. Thank you.

Hi @jhiltabidel,

The Keypad does state the system's armed state on its screen, but it doesn't have a status light like you mention. We'll pass this idea along to our devs for their consideration - thank you for the suggestion!
