If by "5G modem", you mean that your home internet is connected by cell rather than cable or fiber, then the answer is maybe. Sending video quickly over the network requires a faster and more stable link, which sometimes isn't possible over cell towers. I do recommend giving it a try just in case.
But if you mean "5G" as in WiFi on the 5GHz bands, then unfortunately no. All of our devices are able to connect to 2.4GHz only. The good news is that all routers and modems that support 5GHz would also support 2.4GHz. So unless you've specifically set your router to allow 5GHz connections only, your SimpliSafe cameras should be able to connect.
