Keypad stays lit

After changing the batteries recently the keypad light doesn't turn off and stays lit all the time. This is causing the batteries to drain. I have set the energy saving to on and still no change. Any help or suggestions?

Hi shaif.hussain,

What the "Energy Saver" feature does is enable a proximity sensor, so that the Keypad backlight only turns on when there's a person nearby. It does work similar to the Motion Sensor, in that it's infrared (that is, heat-motion sensitive). So if there's a heat generating object in the room, it might be keeping the Keypad lit.

It might actually be a better idea to leave that feature off if you aren't able to figure out what's triggering that sensor.

@tcdell sorry for the inconvenience. There was previously a site issue that prevented older replies from being displayed. Here's our reply from May 2021:

Fixed!  I stumbled across a pending update for the base and keypad. I don’t remember what I pushed to come across it but it fixed the issue.

Thank you, this worked for me too! You just go to the menu then "system settings", then "check for updates".

I am having the same issue with no heat generating near the keypad. I’ve tried removing the batteries and putting them back in but no luck. Ugh!
