Key Fob at Home

How does one operate the Key Fob at home, to turn the system off. Or is Key Fob, only used when you leave the house? Thanks...

Hi @Philo114 ,

I'm not sure I understand your question. The Key Fob works like a smaller version of your Keypad, so you can set your system to any of the three modes; Home, Away, and Off - using the buttons right on the device itself.

Thanks for your reply Davey. The reason for my question, is that, my Fob is not activating the home command, or the off and away command when I press the buttons on the Fob. In other words, when the system is off, and I attempt to turn the system on with the Fob, nothing happens, the system does not turn on, like wise, I have attempted to turn off the system when in home mode and nothing happens, same with away. Where's the battery and how do I gain access to it? Does the Fob need to be added to the system? I've my system for a few months and we were not even protected, because the sensors were never activated, finally activated them yesterday when I was sent a new base, because the original base was not up dating....

@Philo114 ah, thanks for the follow-up.

Yes, if your sensors had to be added to a replacement Base Station, then your Key Fob would need to be added too.

Head over your Keypad, and navigate to: Menu > Devices > Add Device

Follow the on-screen prompts, and when you get to the part where you are asked to press the button on the device, you want to press the Panic Button on the Key Fob for 2 seconds (that's the red bit at the end). The Base Station should confirm by announcing the sensor, and the Keypad will ask you to give it a name.

Okay... I figured out why the Fob's were not connecting and I was right. The Fob's needed to be added to the base system, so I had two of them and have successfully added them to my system... One added as the master and other as a spare...
