Is the outdoor camera's motion detection 24/7 or triggered by the base station?

It seems like the outdoor camera has human recognition motion detection which is good.  For my situation I am looking for a camera with the following features:

1. I can control when to arm and disarm the motion detection

2. An alarm siren and spotlight trigger when it detects motion

3. I can filter motion detection to humans

Does the Simplisafe outdoor camera meet this criteria?

Hi @jc5830,

Captain11 is correct! At this time, the Outdoor Camera is designed to detect motion at all times. Our devs are working on a feature that allows you to tie its motion detection to the system's armed state, but at this time I do not hate a date on when this feature will be rolling out. When we hear more, we'll give an update over in this thread.

The Outdoor Camera does have a siren that sounds when an alarm is triggered, but it will not sound whenever it detects motion. It also has a spotlight feature that turns on at night when it detects motion.

The Outdoor Camera also has a "People Only" motion detection setting so, when enabled, it will only record and notify you when it detects people.

@jc5830 1. At this time no, but the feature has been requested. As far as actual status, SS??

2. The camera has a siren and spotlight but does not go off when it detects motion, can go off in an alarm state.

3. Yes.

BTW, recommend you use the AC power connection kit if possible and avoid using the battery or solar panel. My two outdoor cameras are on AC and work fine, contrary to many posts that I read in the community with those on solar or battery only.
