Hi @mkdowns,

Yes, you can definitely do what you are asking for. You are correct that with the Interactive Monitoring plan, all of your cameras will start to record in the event of an alarm from your system. We first recommend that you get your system activated and then install the SimpliSafe cameras. Then when you go through the setup process with the cameras, the second step, after what type of camera are you installing, will be which property are you installing the camera at. For the camera that you want to record, you'll want to choose the location with your system. For the other cameras, you'll want to select No, I'm Installing Elsewhere and you can create a new location for those cameras.

If you need any help getting your equipment set up and activated, you can contact our Support Team by phone at 1-800-548-9508 or by email at Customer-Support@SimpliSafe.com from 8 AM to Midnight ET, 7 days a week.

You buy the system, install it with the 2nd address the same as you did the first system (using the same email).  When you bring up the account, it gives you a list of locations to select from.

Hi @keymasabe,

@sevensiamesecats is right that it's basically the same process as setting up your first SimpliSafe system. The only difference is that, when activating your system, you'll select the option to "Add or Upgrade Monitoring" since you are adding a second monitored address. Once activation is complete, you'll then see both of your locations in your SimpliSafe.com account and you'll be able to switch between the two within the SimpliSafe app.

Are there additional charges for the second location?

@cat2grant If you want to subscribe the system at your second location to a monitoring plan, that would be an additional charge as each system needs its own subscription. But if you want to use that system without a monitoring plan, there is no additional charge for having multiple locations on your account.

Hi there, I have this same situation- I am wanting to add a second property location to my system- I would like to know if SimpliSafe will support this if the second location is in Canada? My current location for my primary system is in the USA. Thank you!

@saspille We're only able to provide product and services within our two markets - the US and UK. But if you shipped a second system to your home in the US, you could bring it to your home in Canada.

It's also important to note that our monitoring center is only able to request the dispatch of emergency services within the US and UK, so if you brought a system to your home in Canada it would have to be self-monitored.

A slight variation on the two address account question:  We are trying to increase security to a remote property with a limited upload speed of 1.5, not enough to support even one camera at highest resolution. We would like to have one camera connected to the system with monitoring in the main part of the house, but other cameras not connected to the main system to monitor the detached casita and the garage. The reason being that with an alarm all cameras come on and start recording (I think) and there will not be bandwidth to support them. Can we assign cameras sharing the same wifi as the main system to a different account and use them as stand alone devices that we self monitor?

For the not connected cameras, consider a hardwired DVR/NVR with remote access system, or some of the non-SS cameras which alert your phone directly.
