Questions about my system

Why does my alarm now chirp instead of a high pitch beep?

Does simply safe remotely update the system?

Both key fobs have now died.

When two of our doors are opened with alarm on, it does not sound alarm until we CLOSE the door. What would be causing this to happen, when it never did this before?

Hi @leslieprice1102 ,

Thanks for checking in. Your cameras are updated remotely and regularly, and don't need user input. However, the Base Station needs to be disarmed, and preferably with you on the property, before it can be updated. So while the update can be downloaded to your system automatically, it does require that you are present to initiate the actual installation.

Regarding that chirping - when an alarm is triggered, the Keypads will gently chirp for the countdown. During the countdown, the Base Station will also be completely silent, so it can hide from intruders.

But you might also have a Wireless Siren, which is a separate speaker component that is significantly louder. Perhaps you've had your system long enough that it's run out of battery? You should expect to replace them every 8-12 months. The good news is that it uses your typical AA alkaline batteries, so you might already have spares at home.

How long have you had those Key Fobs? With regular use, they should last about a year. Unfortunately, the batteries are not replaceable. But our Support team can help with replacements.

Finally, regarding your Entry Sensors. The way they work is that they trigger an alarm when the main sensor goes from closed to open. If you arm the system and the sensors were already open, or even if you close them while the system is armed, then that would not trigger an alarm. It has to already be closed, and then be opened. This has always been how the Entry Sensors functioned.
