New Simplisafe Feature announced!

The link below will open up an article on new, exciting features that will soon be coming to Simplisafe Fast Protect customers and their outdoor cameras. Not to be a spoiler, but wow! Facial recognition, Fast Protect proactive steps with live agents before an intruder even gets into your home...great stuff.

Here's the link:

Update: Looking at the Tom's Guide article again, I looked more closely at the picture and noticed a black "ring" attached to the perimeter of the camera housing.  Appears thicker at the bottom housing another sensor.  This was not shown in the official PRNews press release.

And now, more information is disclosed in a PC Magazine article. Here it is, word for word:

"The fine print notes that the facial recognition component won't work in IllinoisTexas, and Portland, Oregon, due to existing laws against collecting biometric data without permission, so don't rely on it in those locations. Where it is available, though, live guard outdoor monitoring integrates with SimpliSafe's existing home security hardware."

I am not very happy that due to government overreach (If you are on my property, I personally believe I have a right to record you) I cannot be a part of this service.  Writing to my state representative shortly to express my displeasure).

Perfect topic for Simplisafe to kickoff their often requested webinar series on how this will work, benefits, demo, etc.

I'm sure the black ring will be an audio enhancer from what I remember reading.
