Outdoor Camera Unsecured Magnetic Mount

Hello, an outdoor security camera with an unsecured magnetic mount is completely defeating the purpose of reliable outdoor camera security. A friend with a SimplySafe system and outdoor magnetic mount was concerned with how secure the magnet mount is. He shared with me he was able to slap the camera off his home quite easily. What if a bird lands on the camera? I asked. I need to purchase an outdoor camera yet I'm hesitant. Why not include a secure mount to protect the integrity of the camera rather than making it necessary to buy a secure mount sold separately? These outdoor cameras are expensive.

In your app you can order the permanent mount for it and it will not go anywhere.

Hello Lance,  Thank you. There is an additional mount available. The point stated, for this price point why not include a secure mount to protect the integrity of the camera rather than making it necessary to buy a secure mount sold separately for $15.00?

I have two o the permanent mounts sitting in a drawer, at the ready when my two magnetic mounts fail...and after two years or whenever they first came out, still waiting. The magnet mount works fine, that is, unless you have to angle the camera beyond its proper mounting position. For me, at least, no issues.

all the bad guy has to do is pull it off the mount and throw it away

@DC69 I'm on my second mag mount and they fit so loosly, they rattle. They do not "click in". The mount is defectively made.

@DC69 They would  have to use a ladder, and at that point, I doubt whatever the mount is used is going to be of any use.

I found that you need to mount the outdoor camera base in wood and really crank the magnet on to the base for it to click in solidly. If you are screwed into any other material, it will probably rip right out. The motion detector sucks at night if it is in a dark location.
