doorbell not connected

I just installed 3 doorbells and an indoor cam. all installed okay, however the doorbells are  frequently offline. when i am at each doorbell my phone has a full wifi signal to router. one of the doorbells is 8 feet from router and other two are ~25 feet each. the ones farther away are connected more often when I check on them. the closest is almost never connected. they all share the same 24vac power supply and have power. I have a monitor on my router and i am not getting disconnected messages. the indoor cam is always responsive. what am I missing?

@taglaser62 did you use the connection check tool in the SS app? Try it and see what it says. If a weak signal, suggest you either call support tomorrow or use tech chat tonight.

They're outside and you have walls. Joking but true.πŸ˜‰

The construction can contribute. Like exterior all brick, interior plaster etc. Like mine. Exterior stucco with chicken wire to hold it together. Metal siding. Anything metal isn't good.

Inside devices "usually" work well because they get better signals.

You want to run the connection checker in the app under each doorbell. If you can run it. They have to be connected to WiFi for it to test.

Should be all blue bars and under detailed tab, the Dbm signal strength should be -50 or even lower is better. Way lower is best. At least 9 or 10 Mbs upload is typical for each test. But varies.

You're running 3 of these critters, they have weak wifi antennas, IMHO, and you have walls like everyone else, that weakens WiFi signal strength.

If the above shows good enough!

Your doorbell power supply probably should be about 30VA for 3 doorbells. One is typically 10VA.

They're supposed to include chime connectors these days I think. Installed those? I never did, you could try them for what their worth.🀷

Doorbells only work with mechanical analog chimes. No digital.

If weak signals, either a compatible Mesh Wifi or call them, they may send you a TP-Link wifi extender to try.

I have two, sample readings below and they still drop offline, but come back online fairly quickly. Couple times per day.

Also try, click to open live view even if it says offline, sometimes that message is BS. See if they open or not after testing etc.

thank you all for your replies, turns out I overloaded the power supply. I added a second supply and put one doorbell on it. now all work well.
