Video Doorbell Pro - JUNK!

I am on my third replacement video doorbell pro…that’s right four units, in a matter of months!

They all have the same issue. They pick up motion no matter what the settings are on. I’ve tried all motion, people only, low, medium, high sensitivity, blocked out zones, blocked out all zones… no difference. I’ve called customer service numerous times, performed soft resets, hard resets, replaced the unit THREE TIMES!…. No difference at all. My street is about 100ft from my doorbell and no matter what, every time a care or a truck passes, the doorbell triggers. The only thing that works is turning the motion off.

i am convinced that the settings in the app do nothing and are there only to attract customers with features that other doorbells have that this piece of junk doesn’t!

Time to switch to Ring!

@Joeydi64 First, sorry to hear about the issues you are having. Now, onto the issues with your doorbell. Four units? Original and three replacements? Simplisafe obviously has a bit of training for their agents to address.  My doorbell, and about a dozen others of people I know (including my daughter's, cousin's and two neighbors) are working just fine. There is something else going on and doubt another replacement will address it.

If you are open to calling again, and asking for a specialist to call you back, that is what I would recommend. Another suggestion: go into the app, setttings for the doorbell, go to the zone settings and block out all of the perimiter zones. top bottom and sides. Save and then try it again. If you get a chance please post your outcome here. Good luck.

i will give it a shot with just the perimeter zones blocked, but even with all the zones blocked…I still get nuisance motion notifications every time a car or truck passes. Also I should mention that two of the replacements were previously refurbished…at least that is the excuse they gave me. I also have another doorbell on my back door that detects bugs and birds when set to people only…but that doesn’t happen as often and not nearly as annoying.

Yeah, blocking the perimeter zones did nothing. Like I said, it seems like the settings are just for show, they don’t really do anything.

@Joeydi64 There has to be a reason for yours not working and mine, and others, do. Try calling support and ask for the tech specialist to call back route.

I am having the same issue.  At first I could not get any video or notices at all.

I did not receive help just a   " we will notify and fix the problem."  Well I bought another doorbell and installed it a couple days ago.

Now I get notified if a plane goes overhead and and I have those zones turned off.

I believe that the programmers need to be told that under the "Activity Zone"  section there is a  "view livestream" link.  I can not connect live using this link.  Neither can the activity zone if it is the connection to block out certain squares.    I have talked to help tech persons on the phone and told them about this.   tey say as long as I can connect on the home3 screen then I don''t need to connect with the other link.   I am hoping this is monitored by someone a little smarter than those on the phone and they will let the programmers know where the issue may be located?   maybe they already know but I should be able to connect and set zones using the view livestream link????????
