Older system is not compatible with app Arming Reminders

Super frustrated to be told by customer service that the option in the app for an Arming Reminder does not actually work with our older SimpliSafe system.  I've spent days trying to figure out why it wasn't working right - including previous calls to customer service where they did not identify the problem.  It turns out that older systems do not support all the functionality that is shown in the app.  How hard would it be to NOT display those options that are incompatible with the system registered in the app?  Or they could even gray those options out and have a note to the effect of 'this option is only supported by the newest systems.'

@RT1 Graying out unavailable options for SS2 is on the surface a good idea, however, this "solution" for you adds additonal GUI clutter for others who have SS3. I apologize for this way of thinking, but would rather ask SS to take a now going on 5+ year old system and offer an aggressive upgrade plan to current SS1 or SS2 customers.  If they are current monitoroing customers, should be a no brainer to get this class of customers to upgrade. Some possible scenarios: off greater than 60% discount that you are offering to new customers (Heck, it's the holiday season, offer 75 or 80% if they take monitoroing for a year), offer refurbished systems for free etc.

Finally, RT1, I did post elsewhere just yesterday my speculative idea that given past product cycle history, we are about due for a SS4 release.  There could be advantages for waiting!

@RT1 The Arming Reminders feature is available with Original SimpliSafe systems. As long as you are subscribed to either the Fast Protect™ or Self Monitoring with Camera Recordings plan, you should be able to access this feature.

Customer Service told me that it was not designed to work with the 2nd gen system - at least not with the functionality described in the app.  The description states "We will only send a reminder if the system is NOT in this mode at the selected time."  In actuality I was getting reminders every day at the selected time no matter what state my system was in.  I'm not sure why the app wouldn't be able to verify the system state even on an older system (it does this from the home screen of the app).  If someone could confirm that it is supposed to work as described (only notifying me if the system is NOT in the proper state at that time) and what customer service told me is incorrect, I'd very much appreciate it!

@RT1​ Currently, Arming Reminders will be sent at the scheduled time regardless of the system's armed state. This is true for both Gen 3 and Original SimpliSafe systems.
