Dead batteries on sensors only 1 year old?

Two of three of my sensors have died after only having them for a year.  Is this normal?  I don't want to have to worry about changing batteries every year.  If not, can I get new sensors?

@deliladc1124 need a bit more information here. What type of sensors, where located, how ofter used etc. Best to call support to walk through these and more questions for a solution.

Examples:  An entry sensor on our basement windows have lasted over 4 years and counting.  Our keypad batteries are replaced every six months.  Besides usage, the strength of the signal from the sensor to the base can also be a factor.

Please post your outcome here after your call to support

Hi @deliladc1124,

I'm echoing Captain11 here! The Entry and Motion Sensors have an expected battery life of up to 5 years, but that is all dependent on usage. If a sensor is often used, like if an Entry Sensor is on a door that is used many times a day, it can cause the battery to drain faster.

And other factors like range and interference can impact its battery life as well. If an Entry Sensor is farther away from the Base Station, or if there's a thick walls/appliances in the way between the sensor and Base Station, that could cause the sensor to work a little harder and its battery would drain faster.

@emily_s  Thank you!  It was the entry sensor and the garage sensor. They are both used frequently.  I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy that they had died already.
