Deadbolt lock jams

New deadbolt gets stuck after entering home and will not lock. Reads as door jammed. I have to open door and hit lock with door jarred, unlock, then turn deadbolt and basically lock the manually.  Any advice on how to fix?

Hi @Suttonhome60,

I would recommend recalibrating your Smart Lock to fix this. You can do this by following the step-by-step instructions provided in this Help Center article.

If recalibrating the Smart Lock doesn't help, I wold also try resetting it. You can do this by removing the front cover of your lock and pressing on the button above the batteries for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds are up, all three lights on your Smart Lock will flash, indicating that it has been reset.

Please let me know if you figure this out. I have the same problem every couple of days. Thank you.

@joemamamia if you are also receiving notifications that your Smart Lock is jammed, recalibrating it should help. This Help Center article will walk you through the process.

@rabahumahi When you tried recalibrating the Smart Lock, was the recalibrating successful? If you used the SimpliSafe mobile app or Keypad, it should display a message if the calibration was done properly.

But if the Smart Lock failed to calibrate, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve that issue. The Calibrating the Smart Lock article in the Help Center will take you through those troubleshooting steps.

However, if you were notified that the Smart Lock did calibrate correctly, but the lock is still jammed, that may indicate an issue with the Smart Lock itself. In that case, please reach out to our Support team and they can provide additional assistance.
