Will I have to pay back equipment discount if I downgrade plan?
Hello,
I am considering joining SS and I see they currently offer a 60% equipment discount ONLY if one signs up for the Fast Protect monitoring plan.
If I do that, and after say a month or two, decide that I want to downgrade to the Standard Monitoring or Self Monitoring plan, will I have to pay back some or all of that 60% equipment discount?

No. I signed up just a week ago and got a huge discount on equipment. And before my 3 day "practice" period was up (not to mention the free month of Fast Protect) I called and downgraded from Fast Protect to Self Monitoring with Camera Recordings. So after a month I'll get charged $10 a month going forward. It was easy and took like 5 minutes on the phone on the holiday weekend.
These companies don't make much (if any) money from the equipment. It's primarily from the monthly contracts. You own the equipment, no matter what price your purchase it for.
