Smoke Detector Verification
please ADD the capability to have verification and/or cross zoning enabled as a feature, so that a transient alarm condition does not cause the system to transmit an alarm to the monitoring station.
verification allows the detector to "blink" once it is initially activated, if the source is transient (steam, dust) it will typically just reset and not result in a nuisance alarm.
these features are common on commercial systems and are software driven and typically not sensor dependent.
this feature would go a long way in reducing the number of nuisance smoke detector activations that seem to be occurring while still maintaining a reasonable monitoring capability.

Hi @pschecter ,
Thanks for the suggestion. At first, I thought you were asking about a cross-zone verification, where multiple sensors need to trigger before an actual alarm is initiated. We have a similar thing in place already for Intruder Alarms, set at the Monitoring Service level - we can set up your account so that two intruder alarm events within a short time before we actually call for dispatch.
But it sounds like you're actually asking for something similar to our Early Warning feature, which is already implemented with our new 2-in-1 Smoke & CO Detector.
With Early Warning, you'll receive an alert when both potential smoke or carbon monoxide are detected, but won't yet trigger a full alarm (and a call for dispatch). You can read about the feature here.
