Natural Gas Detectors

I found another article on this from last year, but I think should revisit.  NYC now mandates natural gas detectors in apartment buildings.  

I tried to find a system of networked “smart” natural gas detectors, but I could not find a manufacturer that offers anything i had confidence in; there were some on amazon, but I never heard of the companies.  In addition, most were not battery operated, and I don’t have too many outlets near my ceilings.

I opted to buy battery powered units that emit a siren; but if they go off in the basement, and the only tenants present are on the third floor. . .won’t do much good.

I’m curious if Simplisafe has any plans to develop Natural Gas detectors.
