Camera Mounting for SimpliCam for more installation flexibility.
I see some users have requested an option to rotate the view of a Simplicam by 90 or 180 degrees.
The response from SimpliSafe is that is not possible because it would impair the motion sensing function.
A solution is to design the mount so that the mount can rotate around the camera.
The mount could be attached to a wall or ceiling or even some angled surface, but the camera would always be upright.
I am mounting a SimpliCam upside down on the ceiling of my garage. I drilled a hole in the base so I could screw it to the ceiling. Right now, I have to "lock rotation" on my phone so I can rotate my phone and see the image correctly. Motion sensing is not my highest priority, I usually just want to be able to view the garage most of the time.

Hi @bacole2 ,
Yes, you are correct. The limiting factor is the motion sensor, which is designed to be pointed downwards (to better capture intruders below).
We did actually, once upon a time, include a wall mount for the SimpliCam, as part of the Outdoor Kit. But that has since been discontinued.
Our two newer camera models, the Wireless Outdoor Camera, and the Smart Alarm Indoor Camera, both feature wall mounting. So they can be installed with a lot more flexibility, just as you describe. The Outdoor Camera even features a 1/4-20 UNC socket, so you can attach it to a tripod or any compatible mounting solution!
