New base station

I just moved into a new home. The previous owner left a Gen 3 system in place, but without the base station. I have the keypad, and all the sensors and cameras. Is it possible to just buy a base station?

@kombiguy There are a couple of ways to go on this. First, call sales. Tell them the situation and ask for a nc base to connect your sensors and set up an account. Note: This could be a hassle as the sensor's serial numbers are registered to the MIA base and SS may not be willing to  disassociate them for obvious security reasons.  If they agree, and you are going to get a monitoring plan, they should agree to the nc for the base.  IF they say yes to disassociating the sensors but no to a nc base, you can get the bare minimum (base and a keypad) with their 40% sale or go to Costco.com and look at the two systems they have on sale. Usually for the price of 1 OD Camera you can get a whole new system at Costco.

Again, I believe your biggest hurdle is going to be the serial number issue, and if you can contact the former owner to reach out to SS after you talk to them, you may be in good shape. Again, talk live to sales, not tech support.

Good luck and if you get a chance, post your outcome here.

Live long and propser!

Hey there @kombiguy and welcome to SimpliSafe (almost).

@captain11's advise is good I just wanted to clear up a couple of things for you.

Sales is a good place to start as you will need a new Base Station and Keypad. (The Keypad comes with the Base Station as a bundle as a new purchase.) As for the existing sensors, it won't be a matter of "if they want to remove them or not for security reasons", but more importantly, even if they wanted to remove the sensors, if the old Base Station is offline, we can't remotely connect to it to make any changes. If there is any way to contact the previous owners to have them contact us to remove the sensors (assuming they are still connected), that will be your smoothest course of action and best guarantee for success because it will eliminate any hurdles you may have as an "outsider" to the previous account and system. If push comes to shove, you may, of course, purchase what you need from whichever vendor/source makes the most sense. Please don't hesitate to post an update. I've got an eye on the community Mon-Fri, and you can always shoot me a private message as well.
