Critical App Notifications

I turned on critical app notifications so I won't miss critical push notifications. When I put my system into test mode I got a push notification telling me the system was put into test mode and it was marked as critical. Why? Are all push notifications marked critical?

The chat bot just told me general notifications are included. I sincerely hope that is not true.

@mindy999 With Critical Alerts enabled, you should only receive Alarm Notifications whenever your phone is set to Do Not Disturb. You should not receive system notifications, like if a camera detects motion.

 

Putting your system into Test Mode does count as an alarm event, so you should have received a push notification for it.

oK that makes sense. But these are good things to know because if I'm somewhere I need to be quiet I need to make sure my spouse doesn't put the system in test mode because my phone will make noise.

Is there a definitive list of what is an alarm notification vs. a system notification? Which is power outage? or loss of wireless?

@mindy999 You will receive an Alarm Notification if one of your sensors triggers your system's siren, or if you put your system into Test Mode. Notifications regarding a loss of power or Wi-Fi fall under the System Health category. If your phone is in Do Not Disturb, you should not be notified of System Health notifications.
