Using wired SimpliCam as a kitty cam
I have a black wired SimpliCam in storage. It previously monitored another part of the house that no longer needs monitoring and worked perfectly fine. My cat has been ill (he is ok!) and I wanted to repurpose the camera to track his litterbox usage.
I have updated my shutter settings to always on for all modes, motion detection and notifications on, and sensitivity high. I have placed the camera on the floor and also on a table (about 3 ft off the ground), both directly in front of the box, but can't get any recordings, even when I am home and I know he is in the area.
I am assuming it is the positioning of the camera. Has anyone had any success using the SimpliCam as a kitty cam? How did you position it?
Thank you!

Hi @acboyko91 ,
The first question that comes to mind is, does it pick up any motion at all? For example, if you were to walk into the room yourself.
The way that the built-in motion sensor works is similar to the standalone motion sensor that you might have as part of your alarm system. That is, it's really looking out for sources of heat that are moving across its scanner beam.
If you have the camera set up on the floor, pointed at the litter box, then it should actually be picking him up. While the sensor is calibrated for larger creatures (like humans), it should be triggering if the subject is right up close.
