Outdoor cameras not picking up motion

Just as the title says; they’re just not picking up anything. Sensitivity high, whole area covered, good signal, plugged in and nothing. Standing right in front of it and nothing. I’ve only been using this system for a month and am very disappointed. There was a guy messing around with my outdoor outlet for a few minutes and no detection, alert, or any of their monitoring deterrence. Anyone else having issues? Thinking of using a different system, idk if I can trust this.

@mylesnt94 It can help to look at how the camera is installed. How high up it is mounted? We recommend installing the Outdoor Camera 6-8 feet off the ground, as mounting it any higher than 8 feet can impact its motion detection.

 

The Outdoor Camera's motion sensor is also most sensitive to lateral motion, so it should be mounted to the side of the area you want to monitor. That way, subjects will move across its field of view instead of walking toward it head on.

It’s not over 8ft and it was working fine and then all of a sudden nothing. It’s currently not detecting any motion at all.

@mylesnt94 If it's not a matter of the physical installation of the Outdoor Cameras, then this may be due to their connection to the Base Station. In order to wake up and begin recording motion, the Outdoor Camera relies on receiving a signal from the Base Station. If the Base Station and Outdoor Camera have a weak connection, it can cause this. Try moving the Base Station to a different area that is closer to these two cameras, that should strengthen their connection.

I’m having the exact same issue and came here to ask the same. It was working fine for 2 years and now, suddenly, my outdoor camera won’t pick up ANY motion. I can live stream, I can even manually record. Absolutely nothing has changed with my base station, my router, my internet, my camera…nothing. Not even the placement of my camera. It’s hard mounted and hard wired. What’s going on? Can motion sensors go bad? Do I need to purchase a whole new outdoor camera? I’ve manually reset it, it worked for maybe 2 hours, then went back to not picking up any motion. Very frustrating!
