Outdoor Camera Detecting Pets in People Only Mode

I have a similar issue with the outdoor cameras.  Sensitivity is "Medium", "Motion Type" is "People Only", and "Video Quality" is 720p.  The neighbors cat (less than 10lbs) like to visit both the front and back door, which sets off the camera either during the day or at night.

Hi @cornholio,

Your issue sounded a little different, so I broke your comment off into its own post so we can troubleshoot here. So it sounds like your Outdoor Cameras are registering your neighbor's cat despite both being set to People Only mode? Do they happen to record other motion that is not human?

The Outdoor Camera uses AI to scan the scene for tall, person-shaped objects. If this cat happens to cast a tall shadow, the camera may be registering that as a human. But if you haven't already, I would also try toggling this motion detection setting off, saving it, and then toggling it back on again. Doing so would send the settings to the camera's memory again.

It can also help to reset the camera's firmware. You can do that by pressing and holding the button in the back for 30 seconds. When you release, the camera will factory reset, and you can reinstall it like a new camera in the SimpliSafe app.
