Help with new intermittent camera motion detection problem
Hi:
I bought a doorbell/camera ~ five years ago, and until recently it worked flawlessly. However, in the last few months, the motion sensor has only been working intermittently. For example, when walking the dog, it triggers only when we leave or only when we get back an hour later, not both times like it used to. There has been no change to the system at all.
Do cameras get "old" and need to be replaced? Am I missing something?

@largedoggie thank you for these details! Since you mention that nothing had changed with the system, we can rule out any potential changes made to the Video Doorbell's settings that could cause this - like motion detection type or activity zones. It may help to increase the Video Doorbell's sensitivity to Medium or High. This can be done in the SimpliSafe app by going to My System > Camera Settings > select [your Video Doorbell] > Motion Detection. Then under sensitivity, drag your finger over to Medium or High.
If adjusting the sensitivty doesn't help, we recommend resetting the Video Doorbell next. If you check out the How to Reset the Video Doorbell Pro article in the Help Center, it will take you through those steps.
But if none of the above help, there may be a bigger issue at play. In that case, please reach out to our Support team so they can help troubleshoot further.
