doorbell camera won't ignore zones

a bus goes down my street every 20 minutes, triggering motion/notification from my doorbell camera. I have changed settings to low sensitivity, people only and I have selected all the portions of the frame to ignore and confirmed those are the sections where the bus is visible. the sensor still triggers. it doesn't seem to ignore those zones. any ideas?

Hi @hollyk ,

It's possible that the Video Doorbell is picking up something that it thinks is a person. Could there be something like that within the scene? Like a tall trash can, or a flag pole, or anything like that?

If you're comfortable, you could share a screenshot of the view as well.

Alternately, our Support team would be happy to help you through troubleshooting!

Hi Davey, it’s picking up the bus. Here’s the scene, a bus going by and where we’ve used the grid to ignore sections.

@hollyk Thanks for these screenshots! Yes, it certainly looks like the Video Doorbell Pro isn't adhering to the activity zones you set up. If you haven't already, I would recommend resetting the Video Doorbell to refresh its firmware.

You can reset the Video Doorbell by pressing and holding the button on the back of the doorbell for 30 seconds. Once you release the button the doorbell will begin to reboot, and you can set it up again in the SimpliSafe mobile app.
