Camera unresponsive

One of my SS indoor cameras has become completely unresponsive. The light is permanently yellow/green and it does not respond to pressing the button on top of the unit. Powering off and on does not clear whatever error is going on. Would welcome any suggestions to resolve it - or maybe it has just died . . . .

@Knaggster What indoor camera are you experiencing this issue with? The SimpliCam Wired Indoor Camera, or the Smart Alarm Wireless Indoor Camera? The SimpliCam is black, and the Smart Alarm is white.

 

If you let us know which camera it is, that can help us provide you with the best troubleshooting steps.

@Knaggster Thank you for that information! A solid yellow light on the SimpliCam indicates that it is booting up, so it could be that the camera is stuck in a boot loop.

 

When you press the button on the camera, how long are you holding it down for? If you haven't tried this already, we would recommend resetting the camera by pressing and holding the button on the camera for 20 seconds. Once you release the button, the camera should begin to boot back up again. 

 

But if you see a blinking yellow light on the SimpliCam, that would indicate that the camera is having trouble connecting to our servers through WiFi (even though the camera is connected to your router itself.) The Why Does My Camera Keep Losing its WiFi Connection guide will provide troubleshooting tips and tricks to help resolve that issue. 

 

But if these steps above do not help, please contact our Support team. They can take a deeper look into your account and provide additional assistance.

@simplisafe_admin​ Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, holding the button down for 20 seconds did not work. The light remained on (steady, not blinking).

After talking with Support over the Chat feature, it was determined there must be a hardware issue and Simplisafe is going to send me a new camera.
