Nothing shows up in timeline?

Just setup new system yesterday, everything was working.  Now nothing shows up in the timeline when a door is opened or motion is detected.  Still hear the chime in the base station but timeline is blank.

Hi @Eric81 ,

When you're testing, do you have your system armed in Home or Away Mode, or is it in Off Mode?

When your system is Off, opening an Entry Sensor will generate a chime (by default). However, no events are sent to the Timeline at all.

Why would it not send an event? Isn't the point of the sensor to capture when a door or window is opened! Guess it's time to get a new security systems.

@saved050107​ with regard to intruder sensors (Entry, Motion, and Glassbreak), essentially yes. The Base Station only sends that any of them have been triggered when the system is armed. That is, unless any of these types of sensors are set to Secret Alert in Off Mode.

For hazard sensors (Water, Temperature) and fire safety sensors (Smoke, CO), the Base Station will send signals that they've been triggered at all times.

@saved050107​ if you are not subscribed to a Monitoring Plan that includes video recordings, then you'll still be able to see a snapshot of the last time that you livestreamed from each camera - in the Cameras tab.

The Timeline will show snapshots pulled from the first frame of each recording. So you do need to be subscribed to see those.

I’m having a similar issue. The front door active  is not showing up in my timeline in off mode. However, my backdoor is showing up I off mode. 

My timeline shows when I disarm my system to exit, it does not show the front door open piece, but it does show when I rearm the system after entering the front door. 

My back door shows the disarming, the door activity, and the rearming all in the timeline. 

I do still hear a door chime alert for the front door. 

I’ve had my system for over 3 years.

@sheenasthornton​ It sounds like your Back Door sensor may be set to Secret Alert in Off Mode, but your Front Door sensor isn't. With Secret Alert enabled, the timeline will show when the Entry Sensor has been opened, and the Base Station will not chime.

So, the only way to get activity in the timeline when the system is disarmed is to set up a Secret Alert, which also sends SMS? Can there be a new option to add to timeline without Push notification? Please?

@koernerc76​ What type of event are you looking for in your timeline? If your system is in Off Mode and and Entry Sensor is opened or you walk past a Motion Sensor, that will not result in an event in your timeline. But if you go to arm or disarm your system, does that action not even appear in your timeline? 

I would try removing the SimpliSafe mobile app from your phone and then re-download it to see if that helps.
